What an awesome day we had yesterday, pretty much the first real day of summer we’ve had and with some swell to boot. Bet the lifeguards were on their toes as the masses flocked to the beach.
Today is another cracker of a day, with dawn light showing a 6ft plus macking swell pounding into South Maroubra. I watched for 30 mins as a brave few tried to make it out the back, only to turn around, worn out by the constant poundings and head back to the safety of the shore.
The sunrise was awesome through the surf mist so I was content having a quick bodybash and rattling off a few frames of the morning.
I’ve heard that even Bronte was struggling with this swell, so better head down the coast to check some options, or if you’ve got a paddleboard you could maybe head down to baysurf as the east swell will be throwing up a few runners to play with.
